⚡Fueler Weekly 102: How To Be Successful (13 thoughts from Sam Altman)?
If you don’t believe in yourself, it’s hard to let yourself have contrarian ideas about the future.
The more I learn about this man, the more surprising things I get to discover.
That man is “Sam Altman”, Founder of OpenAI.
This week I discovered one of his articles on “Becoming Successful”. If you ask for advice on becoming successful for all the people on earth, out of ~8 Billion more than 99.9% will be ready to advice you something, but not all of that advice will come from performers.
Sam is the person who has built billion dollar business from scratch, someone whom we can say is successful collectively.
As per his life experiences and learning, he has shared his thoughts on “How to be successful?”
Here are a few I will share with you here,
Compound yourself
You don't want to be in a career where people who have been doing it for two years can be as effective as people who have been doing it for twenty—your rate of learning should always be high.
It’s useful to focus on adding another zero to whatever you define as your success metric—money, status, impact on the world, or whatever.
Have almost too much self-belief
Self-belief is immensely powerful. The most successful people I know believe in themselves almost to the point of delusion.
If you don’t believe in yourself, it’s hard to let yourself have contrarian ideas about the future. But this is where most value gets created.
Learn to think independently
Make it easy to take risks
Get good at “sales”
There are many more, you can read the whole list here.
