⚡Fueler Weekly 102: How To Be Successful (13 thoughts from Sam Altman)?

fueler.substack.com

The more I learn about this man, the more surprising things I get to discover.

That man is “Sam Altman”, Founder of OpenAI.

This week I discovered one of his articles on “Becoming Successful”. If you ask for advice on becoming successful for all the people on earth, out of ~8 Billion more than 99.9% will be ready to advice you something, but not all of that advice will come from performers.

Sam is the person who has built billion dollar business from scratch, someone whom we can say is successful collectively.

As per his life experiences and learning, he has shared his thoughts on “How to be successful?”

Here are a few I will share with you here,

  1. Compound yourself

You don't want to be in a career where people who have been doing it for two years can be as effective as people who have been doing it for twenty—your rate of learning should always be high.

It’s useful to focus on adding another zero to whatever you define as your success metric—money, status, impact on the world, or whatever.

  2. Have almost too much self-belief

Self-belief is immensely powerful. The most successful people I know believe in themselves almost to the point of delusion.

If you don’t believe in yourself, it’s hard to let yourself have contrarian ideas about the future. But this is where most value gets created.

  3. Learn to think independently

  4. Make it easy to take risks

  5. Get good at “sales”

There are many more, you can read the whole list here.

Every week we launch freebies, host challenges, and plan meetups, webinars, and workshops, here are a few best ones from this week that you shouldn’t miss

This Week at Fueler

So we have been invited to NIT Agartala. It was for a Panel Discussion about the startup ecosystem in the Northeast India. Also got a chance to judge a case study challenge. The participants were asked to work on problem statements and they had to pitch their solution.

Guess what? The team that has won the challenge pitched a solution for Fueler and it was really good. The team had the perfect balance of everything requires to make a impressive presentaion. You can watch the clip here

Got back home after travelling for 75 days, here are some harsh realisations I had:

Some of the amazing entrepreneurs and creators such a Anubhav Dubey, Aman Dhattarwal, Shradha Kapra, Ishan Sharma were also invited on this Tech Fest organized by NIT Agartala. It was great time spending time with students, faculties and the entrepreneurs

With that, it’s time to say goodbye this week.

See you next week, if you want to have any kind of convo just drop an email at riten@fueler.io or drop “Hiiii” on Twitter
