A lot has happened in the last 2 years, can just say that we just crawled our way to what we are today. Our vision has evolved and now we are working hard toward becoming the Career Infrastructure for 100Million Indian Professionals

Quick story time: Recently someone I know loosed his job due to his portfolio even if he did a brilliant assignment. It was tough competition to choose between 2 applicants. Turned out the other one had both - a nice portfolio and the assignment.
This made me think, we should create more and more awareness about the importance of having a portfolio in todays time.
Alrâ so here are few of our learnings about portfolio that the decision makers like Hiring Managers and the Founders consider while hiring.
đ§ What kind of portfolios are liked by hiring managers or founders?
You spent weeks on a project and your portfolio. And many times, you donât get a response from hiring managers or founders.
Hereâs the truth, most portfolios donât fail because the work is bad. They fail because they donât tell the right skills and work. A hiring manager or founder isnât just looking at what you made. They want to see how you work, how you think, if you can solve problems, and lastly, if you can get the work done.
These 5 portfolio tips on what kind of portfolios are liked by hiring managers or founders:
1. Show the work, not just the result
A screenshot of the final product is fine. But what makes someone want to hire you is the story behind it â what you did, why you made those choices, and how you got there.
Think of it this way: Anyone can share a photo of a cake. But a baker who explains why they changed the recipe?
Thatâs who gets hired.
2. Context beats credentials
Nobody is impressed by your certification badge. What they care about is the problem you solved â and who it was for. Add a one-liner to every project that explains exactly that.
Try this format: âBuilt X for [type of company] to solve [specific problem].â Itâs Simple. Clear. Memorable.
3. Write about what you learned
Be expressive, be elaborative.
One paragraph about what went wrong, what surprised you, or what youâd do differently does more for your credibility than a fancy case study. It shows you reflect. And people who reflect grow.
Donât be afraid to say: âThis didnât go as planned, and hereâs what I learned.â That honesty is rare â and recruiters notice it.
4. Keep it fresh and updated
A portfolio that hasnât changed in a year sends a message and not a good one. Even small, recent projects show that youâre still making momentum. Still learning. Still in the game.
Quick rule: If you did something worth doing in the last 3 months, it belongs in your portfolio. Small wins count, you gotta publish them on your Fueler
5. Add numbers wherever you can
Vague descriptions are forgettable. Numbers stick. They show impact and impact is exactly what a founder or hiring manager is looking for.
Weak: âRedesigned the onboarding flow.â
Strong: âRedesigned onboarding â reduced drop-off by 30%.â
One of these gets remembered. The other doesnât.
